Details for Parents
After you register for camp, you'll receive a confirmation packet with details about transportation, what to pack, how to contact camp during the session, where to send mail, and lots more. Click here for driving directions. You can also attend a Family Play Day.

For camper e-mail & photo service please follow instructions on check-in handout.

The Camp Staff
Counselors, lifeguards, activity specialists and support staff are all carefully selected. We hire people who agree with our philosophies of inclusion, safety and empowerment of kids. Background checks are just the beginning…the Sealth staff also needs compassion, flexibility, a big heart and good judgment. The leadership team at Sealth is terrific – ten year-round staff guide camp’s operations and program, so there is great continuity and attention to detail.

Health Care
Camp Sealth’s mission is to work with parents to provide exceptional care for each child. We depend on you to tell us about your child’s needs, and we will consult with you during camp should your child become ill or if a concern arises. Health care is provided by nurses, doctors and EMTs.

Parents and health staff can stay in touch by phone during the session if anything arises that should involve parents – from homesickness to illness to questions about routine care. We do not hesitate to call you if we need you. In addition, Vashon Island is professionally served by physician clinics and a fire department with paramedics and EMT’s.

Medications
Parents should send a supply of each medication their child takes routinely or as-needed. Send all meds in their original bottles with the camper’s name on the prescription labels. Times and details are established in consultation with parents at check-in and health care staff and counselors make sure children take their medication on time each day. We recommend that children who take medication for behavior during the school year continue to take their medication during the summer and at camp. Camp life is even busier than school routines.

Please fill out the Health History Form and bring it to check-in (this green form is included in the confirmation packet that is mailed to parents of Resident Campers). Day Campers do not need this additional form; your camp enrollment/registration form had all the health information that we need.

If your child has Asthma, she or he is welcome at camp any session….Sealth is now asthma-friendly all summer, thanks to the assistance of the American Lung Association. Please print and complete the Asthma Management Form from this website and bring it to check in. Call or email our registrar if you would prefer that the form be mailed to you.

If your child has Diabetes, PKU, celiac sprue (gluten intolerance), or other special needs, we have a resident camp session for them, too! Check out the Campers with Special Needs section of the website.

Emergency Care
All Sealth staff are trained in basic First Aid and CPR; many staff also have advance first aid training. Vashon Island is professionally served by physician clinics plus a fire department with paramedics and EMTs. The camp is well-prepared for any major regional disasters, and you can be assured the Sealth has many systems in place to care for your children until they can be reunited with you.

Food Service
Nutritious and kid-friendly meals, ample food, afternoon snacks, the 24/7 fruit bowl, frequent salad bars at meals, and careful attention to allergies – that spells Camp Sealth’s food service. Campers with dairy or wheat intolerance's, vegetarian preferences or most food allergies will be provided with good alternatives. Extreme Kosher or vegan diets may not be able to be accommodated.

Peanut Allergies
Camp Sealth is a peanut-free camp – we no longer serve peanut butter or other peanut products. Care packages are screened for peanut products and we discourage parents from sending nut products to their children.

Camp Sealth T-Shirts
T-shirts are included with each registration, and will be distributed at camp.
