Counselor-In-Training (CIT) & Riding-Staff-In-Training (RSIT)
Take on an exciting leadership role at camp and get a feel for being a Sealth staff member!
The application deadline has been extended to May 31, 2009

CITs and RSITs will join a long tradition of spirited, dedicated high school youth that love Camp Sealth and want to work with kids. As a group, you’ll create unforgettable memories and lasting friendships. As individuals, you’ll grow in confidence, make a difference in kids’ lives, and be on your way to joining the talented Sealth Staff!

Counselor In Training
Grades 10-12 $775
Sessions 3-5 Crew One
Sessions 6-8 Crew Two
Have you got what it takes to join the CIT Crew? If you want to be challenged, learn new skills and work with younger kids, we want you! This exceptional group of teens has a unique role at Sealth as leaders and role models for other campers. Work closely with the Teen Leadership staff as you develop leadership skills through a series of workshops, guide kids in activities, and assist in leading a younger cabin group for a few days. Riding Staff In Training (RST)
Grades 11-12 $775
Sessions 6-8 Crew Two (RSIT not offered in July)

Combine your love of horses and kids in one great experience! You’ll gain valuable leadership skills and horse knowledge through training workshops, job shadows and hands-on teaching. Learn more about horse health care, herd management and advance horse behavior. Develop lesson plans and assist in leading lessons and horse-related activities.

To apply to the CIT / RSIT program, complete these steps by May 31, 2009
1. Please read the program details (links above) and complete the application form by downloading it from this link, or call 206 463 3174, ext. 35 to have one mailed to you.
2. Send in the registration form with your deposit AND completed CIT/RSIT application to:

Acceptance into the CIT/RSIT program is based on your qualifications and is not a guarantee to all teens. We encourage all interested and eligible teens to apply.

High School Volunteer Internships
Required Training Week: June 27 – July 2
Grades 11-12 (Minimum age 16)

Learn the challenges and rewards of being a Camp Sealth staff member as you take on more responsibility through a volunteer internship. In this “junior staff” position, you’ll assist counselors, program specialists, support staff or the horseback riding staff while learning about all aspects of the job.

Requirements
Prior completion of the CIT/RSIT program is recommended but not required. Interns must attend a required training week (June 27 – July 2), then can volunteer for up to three sessions throughout the summer. High School Interns must be 16 years of age (17 years for horseback riding interns) by June 27, 2009. Acceptance is based on qualifications, an interview and background check.

To Apply
To apply for a high school internship, download and complete a staff application form, three reference forms, and a criminal background check form, and mail all forms to Camp Sealth.

NEW! This year, we are offering internships to work in various support roles in camp, including kitchen, health care and maintenance. Indicate on your application if you are interested in working in one of these areas.
