Camp Fire USA builds caring, confident youth and future leaders. This mission is carried out through a variety of informal education programs and summer camps. Camp Fire strives to make its programs available to as many children and families as possible, regardless of the ability to pay. “Camperships” (camp scholarship funds) for Day Camp and Camp Sealth are available through the generous donations of community organizations, businesses, and individual friends of Camp Fire.

Our summer camp programs include:
11 one-week long day camps in locations across King and Kitsap Counties
8 sessions of resident camp (overnight camp) at Camp Sealth on Vashon Island
8 sessions of day camp at Camp Sealth
One family camp for families with a child with disabilities (“Special Family Weekend” May 29-31)

GUIDELINES FOR CAMPERSHIPS INCLUDE:

  • Assistance is limited to one summer camp program or session per child per summer. For resident camp, camperships may cover up to the cost of a 7-day program (this may be applied to a longer session, but camperships will not cover the full cost of a session longer than 7 days).
  • Assistance from our Camp Fire council is limited to children living in King, Kitsap or north Mason counties.
  • All youth who attend camp must become members of Camp Fire USA ($20 individual dues or $45 family dues) regardless of the source of Campership assistance.
  • In most cases, the family or another source must pay the membership dues plus a $30 deposit toward the Sealth fees ($10 for Day Camp or Special Family Weekend), plus the extra cost of any “special” programs such as horseback riding. The Council will consider funding the cost of a “classic camp session” minus the deposit and dues. There are exceptions, however. If you need assistance with the dues and deposit, please attach a letter to your written application.
  • Amount of assistance is based on family situations including income and family size.

HOW YOUTH CAN EARN THEIR CAMP FEES
Youth are encouraged to earn part of their own fees toward camp. You can do this through Camp Fire by participating in our candy sale. Thousands of kids in our area thoroughly enjoy belonging to a Camp Fire Group throughout the year; activities include community service, crafts, special projects, camping and much, much more. The candy fund raiser is held only in January & February; please contact our office for information about participating.

ADULT VOLUNTEERS FOR DAY CAMP
Adults can receive a partial waiver of their children’s Day Camp fees when they volunteer for the full week of day camp. Please contact the Day Camp Coordinator about applying for a volunteer position. The Day Camp Coordinator can be reached at 206 461 8550, ext. 8910. This does not apply to Camp Sealth Day Camp.
