Join other enthusiastic volunteers for a fun morning of forest restoration and trail maintenance. We have a wide variety of tasks you can help with. We provide gloves and water (we encourage bringing your own bottle of water, to reduce plastic waste). Please wear sturdy shoes.

Do you see yourself as the next Martha or Emeril? Have we got an opportunity for you! Help create and serve some finger-licking good food to those less fortunate. Roll up those sleeves and grab that spatula to add that special touch and some “BAM!” to help us contribute to the 17,000 meals provided each month.

Learn how to construct bird and bat boxes, collect seeds from native plants, and maintain previously planted projects. This hands-on approach will enable you to expereince true environmental conservation.

Trail Warriors United #668 (Seattle Parks - St. Marks Greenbelt - Monday-Friday) - This project is full!
With all the weather changes in Seattle, the trails have taken quite a beating. Help us whip St. Mark’s Greenbelt back into shape! Not only will you be rebuilding trails, you’ll be greening up Seattle. If you love nature and being outside, it can’t get much better than this!

Outdoors for All is a day camp designed for kids with developmental disabilities. Having you volunteer with this project provides campers the opportunity to interact with peers and will help them build social skills. Join us for two weeks of amazing activites, field trips, art, games and FUN!

Don’t be afraid of nature, look nature in the face and think green thoughts. Help with the restoration of the West Duwamish Greenbelt, comprised of 182 acres, and happens to be the largest remaining contiguous forest within Seattle City limits. Churn, learn, and be a part of preserving Seattle’s Parks.

Do you enjoy the great outdoors? Camp you camp like it’s nobody’s business? Can you roast one mean marshmallow? Well then show off those woodland talents in an overnight excursion with the summer child care program. Be ready to tell goofy tales, sing songs, and help watch our campers.

Chicken Soup Brigade #680 (Lifelong Aids Alliance - Monday-Thursday) - This project is full!
If you have an open mind and want to help those who need help, then we want you! Help prepare meals for those suffering from HIV/AIDS and other terminal illnesses. Imagine the ease and comfort you provide just by making the task of cooking one less thing to think about when your not feeling well. We will also put together the bags that food is distributed in. Bringing your help full circle.

Excursions Extraordinaire #698
Do you love field trips? Do you believe everyone should get the chance to do a fun trip? Then we need you! Help long term residents get out of their homes and do something fun and engaging. Go to a Mariners game, the zoo, the aquarium, and more. Youth must be able to push a wheel chair. Without your help it just isn’t possible. We will go on at least 4 local outing in one week!!!! You must get to the location, but we will ride with ACCESS to all the field trips.

Camp Sealth Overnight #696
Help us close down Camp Sealth after an exciting and busy summer. We'll put away equipment, clean cabins, organize camp gear and tear down teepees. But fret not, we'll still find time to also enjoy some camp activities like archery, low ropes, hiking and, of course, s'mores. YUM!

How/When to Sign-Up
There is limited amount of space on each project, so sign up quickly. The projects are assigned on a first come, first serve basis.

During the school year, contact the YVC Service Learning Coordinator for the project you would like to be a part of to sign up.

During school breaks, read the list of projects, pick the ones you want, fill out the registration form, and mail the form to the address on the bottom of the page. Once we receive your registration form, we will send you a postcard telling you which project(s) you are in. You will then NOT hear anything from us until your team leader calls you about 5 days before the project! Please remember which projects you sign up for and keep the commitment.


Please return original and signed registration forms to us by a week before the project at the latest. Transportation is available for some projects - please contact us if this is necessary.
